FRAMEWORK GUIDELINES FOR CALIFORNIA PUBLIC SCHOOLS
The following is a list of curriculum guidelines supported by the California State Framework relevant to museum educational programs.

HISTORY and SOCIAL SCIENCES (SS)

    m. Accomplishments of the Mayan, Aztec and Incan civilizations explored in both historical and geographic perspectives
  5. United States History and Geograpy: Growth and Conflict. 8th grade
    n. Connecting with Past Learning: Our Colonial Heritage
    o. The Divergent Paths of the American People: 1800-1850
    p. The Rise of Industrial America: 1877-1914
  6. United States History and Geography: Continuity and Change in the Twentieth Century. 11th grade
    q. Connecting with Past Learnings: The Nation's Beginnings
    r. Connecting with Past Learnings: The U.S. to 1900

SCIENCE (SC)

  1. Life Sciences
    a. Characteristics of living things
    b. How structures of living things contribute to the maintenance and growth of the organism
    c. Relationships of living organisms
    d. How life has changed and diversified through time
    e. Ecosystems and the interaction of organisms within them
  2. Earth Sciences
    f. Plate tectonics and the evolution of the Earth
    g. How rocks and minerals are formed, distinguished and classified
    h. The oceans and different marine environments
  3. Physical Sciences
    i. Matter and its properties
    j. The basic units of matter
    k. How chemical structures determine the physical properties of matter
