On the move... A photographic survey of the Natural History Museum’s 1913 building Ground Floor Hallway Exhibit
A creative perspective on the history and evolution of the Natural History Museum’s 1913 Building from its original construction to its current transformation in preparation for the New Museum Project. Photographer Joshua White will present a selection of 30-40 black and white, and color photographs, both old and new, featuring the historic building and our current renovation.
Joshua White biography
Joshua White is a Los Angeles based photographer specializing in the documentation of fine art and architecture.
In the 1990’s, Joshua attended California institute of the Arts where he studied photography before working as the in-house photographer at Frank O. Gehry and Associates. Over the last fifteen years, he has worked extensively with world renowned architects Frank O. Gehry, Richard Meier, and Rem Koolhaas, as well as many other influential contemporary artists such as Charles Ray, Jeff Koons, Robert Therrien and Raymond Pettibon.
The architectural photography Joshua has produced over the last ten years has been published widely and exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, The 1991 Venice Biennale, and The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.
Joshua's work has been published in most major architecture magazine and art journals worldwide. Some of Joshua's most recent works include Bohemian Modern, a book documenting the vibrant architectural scene of the silverlake district of Los Angeles, published by Harper Collins, as well as, Come Alive- the Spirited Art of Corita Kent, published by Four Corners Books.
