How Do They Work?

It took a team of scientists and artists to bring our dinosaurs back from the dead.

Performing Arts

NHM's Performing Arts program helps bring science to life through theater arts. Its creative team runs the popular Dinosaur Encounters and Ice Age Encounters performances, in which realistic, large-scale T. rex, Triceratops, and Saber-toothed Cat puppets capture the imagination of audiences every week. Performing Arts members also engage visitors in special performances such as shadow puppetry and aerial dance to highlight Museum exhibits and events.

DINOSAUR ENCOUNTERS

Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, check the Calendar for current performance times!

Watch as dinosaurs come to life! Our realistic T. rex and Triceratops large-scale puppets capture the imaginations of audiences in performances each week. Thanks to the expertise of NHM's paleontologists and puppeteers, you can experience how these prehistoric animals lived. Our team of performance artists will guide you back in time to better understand dinosaur anatomy, possible behavior, and movement.
