Field Trips on the Metro!

Need a ride?

Don't qualify for a bus scholarship? Check out the Metro! The Transit Education Team is now offering the Student Field Trip Program, which provides access to 20 approved destinations - including the Natural History Museum!

Visit the Museum

School visits are self-guided explorations of the NHM with you and your students. Docents and Gallery Interpreters are available throughout the Museum to help answer questions and show you cool artifacts!


1. Choose Reservation Requests

In addition to School General Admission, reservations are required for:


  • Nature Lab
  • Butterfly Pavilion
  • Spider Pavilion

Guided Programs & Performances

  • Windows into Nature
  • Growing Home
  • Fossil Detectives
  • Pond Life
  • Backyard Biodiversity
  • Encounters

2. Submit a School Visit Request

Click below to fill out an online request form. Submit a seperate request for each visit.


3. Check E-Mail

You will get two e-mails from the Museum:

E-mail 1 confirms your request was received, and arrives within 24 hours of submitting a request. Keep the tracking number (letters and numbers) in case you need to follow up with us!

E-mail 2 Confirms your visit, and arrives 1-3 weeks after submitting a request. It lists your visit date, additional reservations we were able to book and has an order number (only numbers). Check it for correctness and read the information before your visit.

Contact us if:

  • You have not received any e-mails from the Museum
  • You have not recieved confirmation within 1-3 weeks of submitting your request.
  • There is incorrect information.
  • You have any questions about your order.
