During Feb. 1-March 31, 2017, Angelenos are invited to send NHMLA photographs of the snails and slugs they encounter throughout Southern California. Help us reach our goal of 1,000 images by the end of SnailBlitz 2017.
We need your help this February and March! Send us your photographs of land snails and slugs you encounter in Southern California. Our goal is to reach 1,000 images so get your phones out and start taking pictures!
One of NHMLA’s citizen science projects, SLIME (Snails and Slugs Living in Metropolitan Environments), is the first citizen science project that aims to catalogue the biodiversity of terrestrial gastropods (land snails and slugs) in Los Angeles County and throughout Southern California. SnailBlitz 2017 supports the SLIME project by taking advantage of our rainy weather.
