Mummies: New Secrets from the Tombs

September 18 - January 18

Unwrap the mysteries and get a rare, up-close look of over 20 mummies from Egypt and Peru in this world premiere exhibition. Discover how modern technology of CT scanning now reveals a detailed look into these long-vanished cultures.

Halloween at the Museum

You're invited to discover all things creepy, crawly and ghoulishly great this Halloween season. Come in your favorite costume and get ready to Trick-or-Treat throughout the Museum and join in the fun with pumpkin decorating, crafts, and activities. During your visit experience our one-of-a-kind Spider Pavilion and unwrap the mysteries in our special exhibition Mummies: New Secrets from the Tombs.

Free with Museum admission. Spider Pavilion and Mummies require an additional timed ticket. Free for Members.

Meow! A Cat Discussion

In partnership with UCLA La Kretz Center, join us for an evening in the company of three cat experts. We'll be discussing feline ecology, cats' roles in human health and happiness, their place in the concrete jungle, and better management practices. Learn More

Rock Like an Egyptian

8:30 pm - 12 am

Come face to face with real mummies in a dance party NHMLA style.  Dance under the lights in the Otis Booth Pavilion to the live performance by the Death Valley Girls.  Dress to impress in your favorite Halloween costume and get ready for a funky night to remember. Tickets include viewing of Mummies: New Secrets from the Tombs, all the festivities, and two free specialty drinks at our cash bar.
