Fright Nights: The Science Behind Scary Movies
In celebration of the exhibition, Natural History of Horror, join us this evening as we explore the classic horror film, The Mummy (1932) and dissect how scientific discoveries have stirred fear and inspired creativity in people past and present.
The evening includes access to the exhibition, rare museum collection displays, special effects makeup artist demonstration, hands-on workshop, a special performance, pre-film conversation and film screening.
Drinks will be available for purchase and complimentary light snacks will be available while supplies last.
SCHEDULE
5:30 pm: Guest Exploration
6 pm: Performances
7 pm: Pre-film conversation followed by film screening
9 pm: Program concludes
PLEASE NOTE
- All audiences and ages are welcome. This film is not rated and is 73 minutes.
- Pre-film conversation is geared towards an adult audience.
- The film screening will take place in one of the Museum's historic mammal halls. Seating will open at 7 pm and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be no early seating.
