Dre'Shawn Frencher

Dre'Shawn joined NHMLAC as UNLAB Program Manager in early 2023. He works with the UNLAB Steering Committee and our network of mentors and co-mentors on all aspects of the program's structure and oversees the application process and participant experience.

Dre’Shawn (or Dre’) is a Southern California native from Fontana, CA. With a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from The University of California, Riverside, Dre’ has focused his career on working with diverse and historically marginalized communities, including: working with juvenile offenders in a group home setting; managing mentoring programs, and acting as a mentor himself; teaching comprehensive sexual health education and providing access to sexual health services for high school & middle school students; tending urban gardens focused on food access; and providing college access services for marginalized students, amongst other things.
