Join us for our Educator Open House. You'll hear about our School Programs offerings for the 2025–2026 school year, enter to win some fabulous prizes, including a bus scholarship for a trip to the Museum, and enjoy table displays inside the Museum.

EVENT SCHEDULE
8:30–9 am: Check-in | North Plaza Ticketing | Sitting, walking & standing
- Check in with museum staff before entering
- Find your way to the Commons Theater
9–10 am: School Programs Presentation | NHM Commons Theater, Level 1 | Sitting
- Meet NHM’s School Programs team
- Hear about everything being offering students and teachers this school year
- Learn how to book a field trip with us
10–10:30 am: Breakfast & Networking | Community Plaza, Level G | Sitting, walking & standing
- Enjoy a light breakfast and reflect on the school year at our community boards
- Receive free admission for add-on experiences that are normally paid with General admission; free for teachers attending the Open House event.
- Enter to win some fabulous prizes, including a bus scholarship for a trip to the Museum, resources for your classroom and more!
10:30–10:50 am: Raffle | Community Plaza Amphitheater, Level G | Sitting & Standing

11–12 pm: Tabling, Activities & Experiences | Grand Foyer, Level 1 | Standing & Walking
- Learn about our Mobile Museum Experiences and how to apply.
- Check out our Mammalogy table highlighting cats specimens and the new cats exhibit, Fierce! The Story of Cats.
- Learn about the Social Forest: Oaks of Tovaangar curriculum from our partners at The Broad.
- Meet at the Dueling Dinos for a Hidden Histories tour led by Museum Educator, Dan Priore. Have you ever wondered about the Museum's history? In this tour, discover how the architecture and exhibits can reveal clues to its hidden past.
- Drop by our School Programs table for resources to take back to the classroom and field trip Q&A with our staff.
- Hear from one of our knowledgeable interpretative volunteers about a newly added mural by Barbara Carrasco, L.A. History: A Mexican Perspective. You’ll also receive a handout made by Self Help Graphics to create your own mural.
