SCIENCE IS FOR GIRLS!

Women continue to be underrepresented in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (or STEM) workforces. Research shows that, for a variety of reasons, many girls begin to lose interest (and confidence in their abilities) in STEM disciplines around middle school. Girls in STEM Days at the Natural History Museum aim to address this, by giving girls the opportunity to build their STEM identity as they:

  • Interact with and learn from diverse STEM role models.
  • Engage with STEM in collaborative, social, and community-oriented ways.
  • Investigate questions and solve problems using STEM practices.
