Kriss joined as Collections Manager of Mineral Sciences in February 2024. Her academic background includes projects with zeolites, meteorites, and Mars-analog clays and salts. Since completing her Master's, Kriss has worked in several industrial science roles with a focus on instrumentation and mineralogy. This professional experience includes asbestos quantification for EPA compliance, various methods of water and soil analysis, X-ray diffraction and fluorescence application science, and small-angle X-ray scattering technical sales. Additional roles included two years on the Mineralogical Association of Canada (MAC) Council and two years participating in Geological Society of America's (GSA's) On To the Future, early career mentoring program.
Her experiences in meteoritics, planetary science, and environmental chemistry will augment the collection’s existing strengths and will continue to build and support our robust research collection.
