Join us for our final workshop this school year at the Natural History Museum! Erika Durazo, Senior Preparator for NHM's Dinosaur Institute, will take us through Gnatalie's story from discovery to installation in the Museum's new Commons gallery. Meet L.A.'s newest giant and learn how to incorporate paleontology in your classroom. Educators will participate in student-friendly activities that can be replicated into the classroom or adapted to field trip visits.

OUR GUEST SPEAKER
Erika Durazo is a Senior Paleontological Preparator at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County’s Dinosaur Institute. She specializes in fossil preparation, from meticulous lab work to field excavations across the U.S., Brazil and Mexico. Notably, she played a key role in excavating and preparing “Gnatalie,” a green-hued sauropod on display at NHM Commons. Passionate about science communication, Erika actively contributes to NHM’s education and outreach programs, inspiring curiosity about prehistoric life and STEM careers.
