Embark on a new chapter of your wellness journey with Mindfulness Mornings at the Museum. Before NHM opens to the public, join us for a healing sound bath or yoga session, hosted by a local practitioner in our historic North American Mammal hall. Stay for a meet-and-greet with instructors and explore the Museum in the morning calm and throughout the day. Make Mindfulness Mornings an intentional start to your day by being present with the past.
*Please note: Mindfulness Mornings at NHM is recommended for participants ages 13+. Participants of the sound bath will be required to sit or lay for the duration of the session (60 minutes). To ensure all participants can fully enjoy the experience, guests will be required to be silent for the entire experience.
Upcoming Events
August 22 | Avery Whitmore of The Sound Healing Studio
Experience an hour of deep rest, guided by sound. You'll be immersed in the vibrations of crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and other instruments as the sound moves through the room and through your body. The session is restorative and regulating – resistance softens, the nervous system settles, and there is space to reconnect with yourself.
Founded in 2023 by Avery Whitmore, The Sound Healing Studio is a Los Angeles-based studio dedicated to the healing power of sound. Raised among energy workers and artists, Avery has spent nearly a decade honing his craft and continues to learn from teachers across a wide variety of wisdom and spiritual lineages.
September 13 | SoulPlay Yoga
Enjoy an hour of beginners yoga focusing on mindfulness, breathwork and gentle movement designed to help you build a strong foundation, connect with your breath, and feel comfortable in your body – no flexibility required.
SoulPlay Yoga is a light-hearted community studio in Culver City, CA. Their mission is to help you move your body, transform your mind and create your peace through conscious and playful yoga.
