Pride in Bloom: Where Natural History Struts Its Stuff

Pride in Bloom flips the Museum experience on its head–adorning it with feathers and a whole lot of heart. From the fierce resilience of creatures that transform and adapt to the dazzling diversity of our planet, this celebration invites you to embrace the beauty of change and self-expression.

Co-created with the artists of Drag Arts Lab, Inc., this event's special drag show is the art of drag with the wonders of natural science. Pride in Bloom explores how nature's evolution and community resilience beautifully intertwine. Enjoy a mini-resource fair featuring incredible community-based organizations, a rainbow scavenger hunt connecting Pride flag symbolism to the Museum's collections, a pronoun pin-making station where you can craft your wearable pride (while supplies last), and talk with Museum Educators to discover surprising stories of transformation and resilience in the Museum's collections.

Program Schedule

Performance | NHM Commons Theater | 12 pm, 2 pm, 4 pm

Natural HERstory: A Drag Musical

Watch the magic unfold as Drag Arts Lab, Inc. takes the stage, reimagining nature's transformations through the art of drag. From dino discos and asteroid explosions to vogueing birds and arthropod eleganza, this show explores how natural history is reflected in our personal experiences. Spaces are limited, wristbands for the shows will be released one hour prior to each showtime on a first-come, first-served basis.
