Kick-Off at NHM: Soccer Connections

Get ready to see the Natural History Museum through the lens of the world’s most popular game.

From June 11–14, explore playful connections between soccer and the Museum’s collections through pop-up Museum Educator carts, in-gallery highlights, a self-guided scavenger hunt, and an online virtual tour. Discover how soccer connects to animal athletes, team mascots, natural armor, rolling motion, fossils, patterns, and the long history of ball games across cultures.

Join us for four days of fan festival excitement in Exposition Park and soccer connections at NHM.

What to Expect

  • Pop-Up Museum Educator Carts
    Meet Museum Educators at interactive carts throughout the Museum and explore soccer-inspired connections through touchable specimens, replicas, and hands-on conversations. Cart activities may vary by day.
  • Self-Guided Soccer Connections Scavenger Hunt 
    Follow a playful scavenger hunt through the Museum to find collection connections inspired by soccer, including animal athletes, team mascots, natural armor, rolling motion, fossils, patterns, and ball games across cultures.
  • In-Gallery Soccer Connections
    Look for special in-gallery moments that connect Museum objects to soccer, movement, play, team symbols, host countries, and the global spirit of the game.
