Art has always had a home at the Natural History Museum, which when it opened in 1913, was named the Los Angeles County Museum of History, Science, and Art. In recent years, the museum has displayed exhibitions of art, and it is fitting, then, that we have invited visitors to have another thought-provoking art experience in Exposition Park.

Light the Barricades is a series of three installations by Candy Chang and James A. Reeves that reimagines the wall as a site for contemplating our inner obstructions.

Located at Grand Park, the Annenberg Community Beach House, and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, all three installations will become part of W|ALLS: Defend, Divide, and the Divine at the Annenberg Space for Photography. The exhibit—on view October 5 through December 29, 2019—examines the historical use and artistic treatment of walls over centuries.
