FIELD TRIPS AT THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM


The Natural History Museum provides self-guided field trips to qualifying California Pre K-12 public or private school groups of 10 or more students at no cost!

 

SCHOOL YEAR RESERVATIONS (Aug 15, 2021 - June 10, 2022): Field trip reservations apply to groups who attend an onsite, accredited academic institution at least three days a week.

 

SUMMER RESERVATIONS (June 11 - Aug 14, 2022): Field trip reservations apply to groups who:
- are providing free summer programming to all students OR
- Receive grant or government funding to help subsidize some/all costs associated with student participation OR
- Are operated by city/county departments OR
- Are a year-round school (such as a preschool)

GROUP INFORMATION


The Natural History Museum provides free admission for all students and teachers and up to one additional chaperone for every five students.
A minimum of 10 students is necessary to qualify for a school visit.

Check and fill all grades that will be in attendance:

Teachers include school administrative staff, teaching assistants, and one-to-one aides. Teachers will not be counted towards the 1:5 chaperone to student ratio and receive free admission.
We require a minimum of one chaperone for every ten students, and cover up to one additional chaperone for every five students. Chaperones beyond the 1:5 ratio are still welcome, however, they will need to purchase a discounted $12.00 chaperone ticket upon arrival. Exceptions apply to Title I schools

The Museum is open daily (except Tuesdays) from 9:30 am–5:00 pm. We always do our best to accommodate your preferred visit date. Be sure to check your school calendar to avoid any conflicts with holidays or in-service days. Scheduling multiple visits? Please submit separate request forms for each visit.
