Liliana Hernández (she/her/ella)

Program Manager, Community Science

Liliana Hernández has a background in K–12 education and a deep commitment to serving the Latina/o/x/e community. She joined the Community Science team in 2023, where she leads the annual Snail Search (Snerch) in collaboration with Dr. Jann Vendetti, Malacology Curator. Additionally, she supports established community science programs, including the Bat Roost Counts and the City Nature Challenge. She also helps lead language justice efforts and manages the Community Science office’s social media and newsletter communications. Liliana holds bachelor’s degrees in Earth System Science with a focus on Atmospheric Science and Chicano/Latino Studies from the University of California, Irvine, and is pursuing a master’s degree in Education, Equity, and Social Justice at California State University, Long Beach.
