Grant Wass

Entomology Technician

Grant Wass contributes to the Entomology Department’s ongoing efforts to database and generate DNA barcodes of every spider species in California (a CIB-funded effort), collecting terrestrial arthropods in the field, and assisting with ongoing arachnid research under Dr. Monjaraz-Ruedas. Currently, Grant is pursuing a B.S. in Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution at UCLA, where he was awarded the Goldwater Scholarship in 2025. Grant's primary expertise is in the fields of biogeography, arachnid phylogenetics, and invasive insect ecology.
