The NHM's Curiosity Show visits mammalogy to talk with Community Science Manager and Wildlife Biologist Miguel Ordenana and learn all about L.A.'s urban bats. You might have missed bats in the city, but they're here, and at NHM we're seeing new species visit us ever since we planted our Nature Gardens. Or actually, hearing them. Miguel detects bats at night using bat detectors that record and identify their calls. We also visit the bats stored in our mammal collection and learn how they fly and catch insects.
