Celebrate Black Mammalogists Week at the Natural History Museum!

On October 16, join us for a special one-day, hands-on event honoring the incredible contributions of Black scientists and conservationists in the field of mammalogy. This celebration amplifies the global Black Mammalogists Week initiative, a movement started in 2020 to connect current and aspiring Black mammalogists across the Diaspora.

All are welcome to get curious, explore the Museum’s world-class mammal collections, and participate in interactive activities!

Step into the shoes of a researcher as you:

  • Learn how to set up camera traps to study wildlife.
  • Meet live animals up close.
  • Chat one-on-one with real mammalogists and conservationists.
  • Discover so much more!

Whether you are a student, educator, or nature lover, this is the perfect event to find community, celebrate diverse voices in science, and spark a lifelong passion for the natural world.
