Girls in STEM Days: Fossils
On March 18, join us as we dig into the science of paleontology and all things fossil! Youth ages 8-18 are invited to participate in hands-on STEM workshops with real scientists from the Museum’s Dinosaur Institute (advanced registration required). Guests of all ages can enjoy a museum scavenger hunt and fun drop-in activities in our STEMinist Lounge.
- STEMinist Lounge: Stop by the STEMinist Lounge to meet museum scientists and see specimens from behind the scenes; learn about paleo opportunities for youth and girls around the city; pick up a museum scavenger hunt, visit our photo booth, and more! Open to all Museum guests; no advanced registration required.
- Hands-on STEM Workshop: How do fossils provide clues about ancient life? Youth age 8-18 are invited to join hands-on workshops with Museum educators and real scientists from NHMLA’s Dinosaur Institute. Participants will have the opportunity to work with real fossils and real tools—to understand how Museum scientists are working to learn about our planet's prehistoric past! Capacity is limited; advanced registration is required.
Hands-on STEM Workshops are open to youth between the ages of 8 and 18 years old. Participants must register in advance; guardians will be asked to fill out a liability waiver at check-in on the day of the workshop, and refrain from joining participants in the workshop. Workshops will be offered at 10-11:15 am and 12:30-1:45 pm. Museum General Admission included with workshop participation.
Please note: Our ticketing system will only allow you to register one participant per transaction. To register multiple participants, you will need to complete a separate transaction for each. We apologize for any inconvenience! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
