Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our visitors and staff, the museum will be closing at 3 pm on December 24 due to the impending storms. The museum will be closed Thursday, December 25 for the Christmas holiday. We will reopen Friday, December 26.

Welcome Day: PRESSURE, James Cameron Into the Abyss

There’s always something new to discover at NHM! On Saturday, January 14 join us in celebration of the newest exhibition, PRESSURE: James Cameron into the Abyss. Explore the exhibition, see amazing specimens from behind the scenes in our Nature Gardens, and take part in an ocean-inspired scavenger hunt! 

Things To DO

  • Submersible Art Activity in the Nature Lab
  • Marine Science Scavenger Hunt 
  • 12 PM | Into the Deep Ocean, A Talk with Curator of Crustacea, Jody Martin in the Nature Lab

*All activities and presentations will take place indoors on the Ground Level, rain or shine. Activity supplies available while supplies last.

  • Collections displays from Crustacea, Malacology and Echinoderms 

*Be advised that PRESSURE: James Cameron Into the Abyss may need to close during the event due to extreme weather conditions. While we will try to keep the exhibit open, visitor safety will remain our top priority.
