All exhibits are accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, with the exception of strollers inside the Butterfly and Spider Pavilion. Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and can be checked out by leaving a driver's license or other form of valid identification. Inquire with our Guest Relations staff once you arrive.
Accessible parking is available in NHM car park.
Accessible Restrooms and Family Lounge
Wheelchair accessible and all-gender restrooms are available throughout the museum. Our Family Care Lounge is available for guests on Level 2 in the Bird Hall. Restrooms inside the museum are currently closed. Accessible restrooms are available near the Butterfly Pavilion.
In order to provide a secure and healthy environment for our guests, as well as to protect our collections, we can only allow service animals in our museum. A service animal is one that is trained to work or perform tasks for a person with a disability.
For those who may experience sensory sensitivity, we provide free kits which include noise cancelling headphones, fossil stress ball, sensory guide, and fidget cube. Kits are available to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis and can be checked out by leaving a driver's license or other form of valid identification. Inquire with our Guest Relations staff once you arrive.

Sensory Friendly Dinosaur Encounters Show
We are currently not offering our Dinosaur Encounters show as this time. Check back for future dates and times.
Fun, educational, and interactive, Dinosaur Encounters features NHM's life-size dinosaur puppets. Our Sensory Friendly Dinosaur Encounters performance provides a warm welcome to guests who need a little less stimulating environment and the opportunity to move around during the show.

Deaf or Hard of Hearing
All exhibits (with the exception of the Gem and Mineral Hall and Bird Hall) contain videos with open captioning. At our 3D theater, CaptiView closed captioning and assistive listening devices are available for our movies upon request from theater staff. American Sign Language interpretation or CART services are provided at no fee for all public programs, lectures, and tours. To request ASL interpretation or CART services, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org at least two weeks in advance of your visit.
