$10 per person. General Admission also required.
$8 for Members. Reservation required.
Timed tickets are required and are available for onsite purchase only. Each session is 15 minutes.
Children 5–17 years of age must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket purchased for each individual. Children under 5 are not permitted to enter the Cat Lounge.
Spend some quality time with seriously cool cats and maybe even meet your future furry best friend.
Complementing Fierce! The Story of Cats exhibition, the Fierce! Catio Lounge is a peaceful, playful space where you can unwind alongside adoptable cats and kittens. Come for the cuddles, stay for the connection–and who knows–you might just find your purrr-fect match.
All cats are provided by a partnering local animal rescue organization and are carefully examined and deemed healthy before coming to the Museum. Adoptions will take place at the Museum, so you can make your new friend part of your family the very same day.

FREE Members Exclusive Event
On select Thursdays throughout August, NHM Members can experience the Fierce! Catio Lounge for FREE before the public. Capacity is very limited and is first-come, first-served. Thank you to the Wallis Annenberg PetSpace.
What to Expect
- A 15-minute play session with local cats and kittens up for adoption
- A calm, comfortable environment for both visitors and cats
- A representative from the partnering rescue organization will be present at all times in the Cat Lounge to help ensure the safety of both visitors and felines
- Information on recognizing cat behaviors to ensure a safe and fun visit
- The Cat Lounge enclosure will have litterboxes inside. All attempts will be made to scoop and dispose of the used litter, but it’s possible there may be typical cat odors present.
By entering the Fierce! Catio Lounge, you agree to the following:
- Enter at your own risk.
