Los Angeles Underwater: Dig, Dive, Discover!

Discover L.A.’s prehistoric past as you explore our newest temporary exhibit, LA Underwater: The Prehistoric Sea Beneath Us, at NHM’s upcoming Homeschool Day! Team up with our Invertebrate Paleontologists at our fossil dig station where you can collect, match and even take home a marine fossil of your own. Get creative with our partners from Makers Mess who’ll guide you through some fun ocean-themed crafts. Dive into the present with our Ichthyology staff and Mobile Museum Educators to learn more about the animals you’ll find beneath our local seas today!

Came for the dinos? Tickets to our Dino Encounters shows at 10:30 and 11:30 will be offered FREE to Homeschool visitors while supplies last! Unfortunately, Butterfly Pavilion is not included in our free Homeschool Day offerings at this time.

As always, Museum admission and special Homeschool Day programs are free for all homeschoolers on this date!* Visit the Welcome Table when you arrive to pick up Museum scavenger hunts, sensory friendly resources, and to find out more about the day's events!

*Tickets for special Homeschool Day programs with limited availability will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. You can ask for tickets at the admissions kiosks when you arrive.
