Enjoy a screening of The Shadow of the Cat (1961) followed by a post-film discussion with Karie Bible, film historian and Hollywood Forever Cemetery Tour Guide, and guests Angie and Chris Schneider, Hollywood Heritage Museum, who will share insights on the film’s history, dive into pet stories and Hollywood lore, and talk about cat representation and stigmas in media.

About the film:

The Shadow of the Cat (1961), directed by John Gilling and starring André Morell and Barbara Shelley, is a British horror classic that follows the story of Tabitha, the house cat of wealthy Ella Venable, who witnesses her owner’s murder at the hands of Ella’s husband and two servants, who are plotting to secure the inheritance.  As Tabitha seeks vengeance, the murderers spiral into paranoia, desperate to eliminate the only witness.
