Kat Halsey
Collection Assistant, Entomology & Preparator, Mammalogy

Kat is a specimen preparator that works on the new amber collection, databasing the historic Channel Islands collections, and sorting and mounting specimens from South America.

Margaret A. Hardin, Ph.D.
Curator Emerita, Anthropology

Dr. Hardin earned her Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Chicago in 1977 and has been at the Natural History Museum since 1984

Leslie H. Harris
Senior Collections Manager, Polychaetes

Leslie Harris has worked with the polychaete collection since 1988. Ms. Harris is an eminent authority on the marine flora and fauna of California, and has been instrumental in the acquisition of major private polychaete collections for the museum.

John Harris, Ph.D.
Curator Emeritus, Rancho La Brea

Dr. Harris is a Curator Emeritus at Rancho La Brea.

Caroline Haymaker
Associate Collections Manager, Marine Biodiversity Center

Caroline works with other MBC staff on all aspects of the development and maintenance of the collection.

Gordon Hendler, Ph.D.
Curator, Echinoderms

Dr. Hendler has been Curator of Echinoderms since 1985, and served as head of the museum’s Department of Invertebrate Zoology.

Austin Hendy, Ph.D.
Assistant Curator, Invertebrate Paleontology

An author on numerous scientific papers, Austin has conducted research in many parts of the world, but especially tropical South America. There he studies the biodiversity, biogeography and paleoecology of Cenozoic mollusc faunas.

Estella Hernandez
Associate Collections Manager, BioSCAN, Urban Nature Research Center

Estella works on the BioSCAN project and manages students and volunteers who are also involved on the project.

Lila Higgins
Senior Manager, Community Science

Lila is a museum educator with almost two decades of experience in museum education and community science programming.

Juliet Hook
Collections Manager, Invertebrate Paleontology

In 2022, Juliet became the Collections Manager in our Invertebrate Paleontology collection.
